One of the pieces (currently three) I'm offering at Otakon... I dunno why I did this particular character, I've not played the games, or saw the movie, but oh well... An initial doodle resembled her, so I went looking for clips/screens fo her, and one scene in particular stood out, so...

Mainly copic marker on canson marker paper, though highlights and blood was done with watercolor.

It looks slaphappy but to be honest, I like it. ^^ It's not completely finished, I'm trying to figure out what color to throw in the background (probably a warm gray).

Again a printed out former picture... wanted vast amounts of space for single color to see if I can get it to work... used the prisma blender (on animarelic's advice) and it seemed to work.

Marker paper again. Whee

I had recently made a investment... and broke down and got the 72A copic marker set with the earnings from Katsucon. I'd been interested in them for a while, but they were a purchase that I couldn't justify without having at least passable skill with markers... so I concentrated on Prismacolors. With various encouragements, and watching others use them at Katsucon, I decided to take the plunge.

I was a bit worried, mind, because these are the markers that are nearly 6 bucks a pop if you aren't careful (as it was, this set cost me $300--and that's STILL about $130 cheaper than the main Copic sight--THANK YOU DICK BLICK), and who knows if I would've liked them, etc. I mean, really, how different are they from say, prismacolors and what not,... what's all the hype..

So, I printed out ol' Axel (You remember him) onto some marker paper that I had lying around (which I bitched about before). I just did the Ink layer, because I'm lazy and uncreative and... set about working on my first experimental piece with Copic Sketch markers,mainly to see how awful I was with them, and whether or not I liked them...

The brush tip of the sketch markers is a hundred times better than the fine tip of a Prisma. It's like... watercolor in convenient marker form. I had, obviously, a hard time with large chunks of color, such as Axel's coat, but I think that probably would've benefited greatly with a use of a colorless blender (which did not come with the set, and Mr. Blick was out of them), so I had to make do. Put on gel pen lines to help disgtinguish things, but it looks funny, but not omg completly lamesorz. Again, I'm sure this'll be something that'll come with practice. Need to work on getting used to the flat/wide tip...

Maybe getting a hold of those Wide markers might be something to look into... but yeah..

Anyway--I guess not too shabby for my first foray into OMGCOPICS?

JKLdjlkdjkldjkld As much as I'm saying this is the LAST TIME I ever draw Axel from Kingdom Hearts, I know it'll happen again.. Maybe then I'll be able to figure out how to draw his hair.

More on my experimentation with markers.

Same technique more or less (I meant to use the tips that telophase had given to me, but forgot), save this was done on watercolor paper. The colors on the marker paper seem to be smoother, but on the water color paper they seem more vibrant... trying to figure out which is better. :/

So, I got some marker paper, and decided to try my hand with all those markers I recently acquired. For my test subject, I chose Riku from KH2

Anatomy mistakes; I already know they're there. e.e But, for a first time practice piece, I guess it's not too bad :o

Also gave me a chance to test out my new scanner.

A request that came from the Demyx/Ino picture, this time of Cagalli Yula Athhra, of Gundam SEED fame, and Axel who is also of Kingdom Hearts 2. Like the Demyx/Ino picture, there is absolutely no backing to this picture at all, at least as far as what has actually happened ingame. Just a request done out of fun, and since it came from a dear and darling friend of mine, I couldn't refuse.

She was the one who wanted the OMGWHATHAVEIDONE expression.

Okay, this picture really has no.... meaning what so ever. It's spawned of OOCness back and forth, and I was like, What the hell... I haven't really done any multi-fandom RP crack since the Black Gate days, so figured it'd be good to go back into such crackness.

As with practically all my "doodles' as it were, I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to anatomy outside of severe omg glaring errors. (Do you know how HARD it is to proportion a skinny d00d?!), and the coloring borders on my 'slaptastic'.

No rhyme, no rhythm, no meaning, just randomness that has nothing to back it up. ^__^

Now to decide if I actually want to post it on to DA and brave the wtf comments...c.c;

What kept going through my mind with this was "Ever since humans arrived in Kalimdor, elves could no longer lounge about the moonwells in peace." I figure that most Nelfs probably don't think twice about Nudity, and the Humans were probably like OMGWTFBEWBSNPEENOR!!!111one

And Jae of course probably got some real winner of a Moron so she's letting him/her know exactly what's up--save they probably took it as an invitation. u.u

Either that or someone told her red wasn't a traditional Nelf color...

Just some random experiment...decided to use a couple of elves for it. Mostly done in OpenCanvas, the background was a screenshot I took in Feralas, tweaked, then painted over some. Because I teh_suck at backgrounds.

The background color isn't set in stone. It's just my working color (what I use to make sure that I erase everything alright and there's no holes in the colors etc). I wanted something cute.. and what cuter can you get than a schoolgirl outfit?
